How do I record a business trip in time tracking if a flat rate of e.g. 10 instead of 8 hours should be credited per travel day?

You create a business trip in absence.io via a leave type. However, it’s not possible to set a flat number of hours, such as 10 hours per travel day, there. Depending on how you set up the leave type, there are two options:

Option 1: The hours are clocked as usual

Activate the “Counts as remote work. Work time must be tracked (e.g. home office)” switch in the leave type.

The travel day will then appear in the calendar, but the target hours are not automatically zeroed out or credited on that day. The person has to record the 10 hours in Time Tracking as usual.

Option 2: The target hours are credited, the rest is clocked

Leave the “Counts as remote work. Work time must be tracked (e.g. home office)” switch deactivated.

The travel day will also appear in the calendar, and the hours stored in the work schedule are credited automatically. The day is therefore zeroed out and the person doesn’t go into the negative.

If 2 hours should be added on top of the 8 target hours, the person has to clock these 2 hours separately in Time Tracking. They are then counted as overtime. When these two hours are clocked on that day doesn’t matter to the system.
