Why is my absence not deducting from my residual days?

Fortunately, your company allows unused vacation days to be carried over to the new year. That means more vacation days for you in the new year — great!

❓ Why aren’t my remaining vacation days considered when requesting leave for the new year?

absence.io can only consider your remaining vacation days once the current vacation year is fully completed and the new vacation year has started.
Only at that point does the system know exactly how many days have actually been carried over.

If you submit a leave request for the new year before that time, the system will temporarily deduct the requested days from your new annual quota. After the new year begins, the correct number of remaining vacation days will be added automatically.

⚠️ Important note

If your company policy requires remaining vacation days to be used by a specific date — for example, by the end of March — the system will only deduct leave taken within that period from your remaining balance.
