Do you have company policies which only allow to carry over a specific amount of residuals into the next year? Then we got you covered. You can limit the amount of carryover via settings > allowances. Just select an allowance policy, click on edit and set a limit on the available overflow: ![](https://info.absence.io/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/14973307609628-1.png)   As soon as the vacation days exceeding the limit (e.g. 5 days) expire, an email will likewise be sent to the users three months before the end of the year. For this, the toggle "Send notification when residual allowance will soon expire" must be activated under Global Settings - Organization - Settings. This behavior only applies to allowance rules and **not** to individually added days in the user profile. If those days do not have an expiration date, they will be carried over to the next year **regardless of the configured rule**.   Have fun using our solution!
